Who's on the job
Kirra Cheers is the lead photographer in New York City. She has more than 15 years behind the camera and a background in fine art and documentary work. She has been Artist in Residence for Mad Gene Media, a film production company. She shoots candidly, without staging, so the pictures read as editorial rather than posed. People relax around her, and that is how the real frames happen.
Chaz Cruz runs the studio side of every job: booking, contracts, insurance, and the run-of-show. He plans the day with you and coordinates any additional shooters. He has been a professional photographer for two decades. For jobs in Mexico City, he is behind the camera.
Bigger events get additional shooters. Either of us travels for the job.
Pre-production
A few days before the event, we have a short call with the producer or brand team. We read the run-of-show, send our certificate of insurance, confirm credentials with the producer, and walk the venue where we can. Then we agree on the frames that matter most: the key moments, the faces that matter, and the shots the client cannot miss. If the job needs additional shooters, we assign them here.
On the day
We match the photographer to the job, whether that's Kirra or Chaz, and we brief every shooter ourselves. Bigger events get more than one shooter, and the lead directs the rest. Everyone works candidly and stays out of the way, and we cover every required shot.
